From peeling and posing, balloon dancing and fan dance techniques to costume making and more, the art of burlesque comes to South Wales in a series of one-off workshops and six week courses.

Whether you are a budding performer or just attending for fun or to build up confidence, we'll be bringing you workshops led by top UK performers and professionals in a safe environment.

FAQs

"Whatever shall I wear?" We encourage students to wear whatever they feel comfortable in. Shoes with a heel are not essential for burlesque and if you cannot comfortably walk in them please do not wear them in class as you will be doing movements that you might not be used to doing in a heel. Clothes-wise, something comfortable - leggings, shorts, dance wear is great. Some students say they feel more the part by 'going for it' and wearing corsets, tea dresses, fascinators. It really is up to you.

"What time should I arrive?"Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of class so that we can start on time.

Where are the classes held? All classes take place at Revue Studios, Swansea. You can check them out here: www.revuestudios.co.uk

What happens after I've paid for my place? One of the teachers will be in touch to let you know what to bring / answer any questions you may have. Your paypal receipt acts as your "ticket" so please bring it to your first lesson. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds on the limited spaces but may be able to find someone to take your place (please let us know in this case!)

"I am under 18, can I still come?" Sorry but, although we don't engage in nudity, due to the legal system and the nature of burlesque we cannot teach minors.

"I am a boy, can I come to a workshop?" We are currently working on a 'boylesque' afternoon workshop... If you would like to take part, please email us!

"Can my boyfriend come and watch?" No, purely because this is a lesson and some of the other participants may feel uncomfortable with an audience. Our classes at Revue are in private studios so that everyone can feel comfortable.
